JQ is on the road again, trading the up-and-down climate of NYC for the glitz, glamour (and much hotter temperatures) of Las Vegas. Or is that heat generated by some of the top events and attractions Sin City has to offer?

Meow Wolf Omega Mart

AREA15, 3215 Rancho Drive #100

From $45

Meow Wolf’s Omega Mart at AREA15 in Las Vegas is a groundbreaking immersive art experience that blends storytelling, technology, and large-scale installation into a surreal, interactive world disguised as a grocery store. Created by the Santa Fe–based arts collective Meow Wolf, the attraction opened in February 2021 as the company’s second permanent exhibition in the world, following its original House of Eternal Return in New Mexico, and marked a major expansion of the brand into large-scale, destination entertainment. Inside the roughly 52,000-square-foot space, visitors begin in a seemingly ordinary supermarket before discovering hidden portals that lead to a labyrinth of fantastical environments, each filled with art from hundreds of contributing artists and tied together by an evolving narrative about a mysterious corporation. The concept itself has roots in earlier experimental pop-up versions dating back to 2009 and 2012 in Santa Fe, but Omega Mart represents the fully realized, permanent version—positioned as the anchor attraction of the AREA15 complex and a defining example of modern immersive entertainment. Widely regarded as a “must-see” in Las Vegas, it has helped elevate Meow Wolf into a major player in experiential art, with Omega Mart standing as a pivotal milestone that expanded the company’s reach beyond its origins and cemented its reputation for creating mind-bending, narrative-driven environments that blur the line between art exhibit, theme park, and alternate reality.

KISS World featuring KISS Mini Golf and KISS World Museum

Rio Las Vegas, 3700 W Flamingo Road

From $12.95

After you’ve rock and rolled all night in Vegas, how about golfing (every) day? KISS World Mini Golf and Museum at the Rio Las Vegas is a high-energy, rock-and-roll–themed attraction that transforms a simple game of mini golf into a fully immersive entertainment experience inspired by the legendary band KISS. Located inside the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino, the venue features an 18-hole indoor course set in a glow-in-the-dark environment filled with neon artwork, oversized band imagery, and interactive obstacles, all set to a nonstop soundtrack of KISS music. Each hole incorporates theatrical lighting, video effects, and themed props, creating what feels more like a multimedia spectacle than a traditional golf course. Beyond the course itself, the attraction doubles as a rock museum, housing one of the largest public collections of KISS memorabilia (curated by Gene Simmons himself)—including costumes, instruments, and rare artifacts—alongside an arcade, gift shop, and even a rock ‘n’ roll wedding chapel. The result is a lively, sensory-driven experience that appeals to both die-hard fans and casual visitors, blending music history, interactive gaming, and over-the-top Vegas spectacle into one uniquely themed destination.

Penn & Teller at Rio Las Vegas

Penn & Teller Theater, 3700 W Flamingo Road

From $66

After more than 50 years together, Penn & Teller are one of the most enduring and distinctive acts in modern entertainment, a duo who have spent decades redefining what a magic show can be. Penn Jillette, the towering, fast-talking half of the pair, serves as the outspoken narrator and provocateur, while Teller, famously silent, communicates entirely through expression, movement, and impeccably precise physical performance, creating a dynamic that feels both classic and completely original. Their long-running residency at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas—one of the longest continuous headlining runs in the city’s history—has become a must-see attraction not just for tourists but for fans of smart, subversive entertainment. The show itself is a carefully crafted mix of large-scale illusions and intimate tricks, often performed with the audience fully aware of the mechanics, only to be fooled anyway, They frequently invite audience members onstage, incorporate live animals, political satire, and even moments of genuine danger, all while maintaining a tone that swings effortlessly between irreverent humor and sincere wonder. More than just magicians, Penn & Teller position themselves as entertainers who challenge belief, celebrate curiosity, and prove night after night that even when you think you understand the trick, the experience can still feel like real magic.

You can bet“Surrender” and “I Want You to Want Me” are played somewhere in public every day). Last year, the band performed what was billed as their farewell tour of Japan, culminating in one last performance at Budokan, an event which was documented in the video for their latest single “The Best Thing” from their 21st studio album, All Washed Up. Interstellar Arc

AREA15, 3072 Rigel Avenue, Building 170

From $39

Interstellar Arc at AREA15 in Las Vegas is a cutting-edge immersive attraction that blends cinematic storytelling, virtual reality, and large-scale physical environments to create the sensation of embarking on a real interstellar journey. Developed by Felix & Paul Studios, the experience places guests aboard a futuristic starship departing a 24th-century spaceport and traveling toward a distant exoplanet called Arcadia, unfolding as a fully interactive narrative that participants don’t just watch but actively inhabit. Inside a custom-built, roughly 20,000-square-foot venue, visitors wear untethered VR headsets and move freely through multiple rooms, where physical sets, environmental effects, and synchronized digital worlds combine to create a seamless illusion of deep space travel. The journey spans centuries within the story—compressed into about an hour of real time—and uses advanced mixed-reality techniques to simulate everything from cryogenic sleep to life aboard a massive orbital city, giving the experience a sense of scale and realism rarely seen in location-based entertainment. Set within the experimental, art-driven environment of AREA15, Interstellar Arc stands out as one of the venue’s most ambitious offerings, combining science fiction, experiential art, and next-generation technology into a “multi-sensory, immersive odyssey” that aims to make guests feel as though they’ve stepped into humanity’s future among the stars rather than simply visited an attraction.
