Date: Wednesday, November 5, 2025

Time: 7:00-8:30 pm EST

Details: This fall we'll be discussing Haruki Murakami's best-selling collection of short stories, Men Without Women. No less than Barack Obama said it “examines what happens to characters without important women in their lives; it’ll move you and confuse you and sometimes leave you with more questions than answers." Extra credit assignment: watch the Academy Award-winning film Drive My Car, which is based on a story from this collection.

RSVP: Register for Zoom Link and check for updates on the Facebook Event.

About JETAANY Book Club
The JETAANY Book Club is open to anyone with an interest in Japan and a love of reading. Past selections have included Japanese classics, contemporary fiction, non-fiction, YA and graphic novels, from Japanese, Japanese American and non-Japanese authors. The common thread is JAPAN! Please join us for a casual, nonjudgmental discussion with JET alum and friends. While we used meet in person over pizza, we'll be gathering virtually for the time being. Feel free to eat and drink during the meeting. Joining late is OK, too!
