Julia was born and raised in Midwood, Brooklyn. An early interest in Japan led her to study abroad at an all-girls high school in Tochigi prefecture in 2014, where she developed a deep passion for cross-cultural communication. After graduating with a degree in Communications and Art from Temple University, she moved to Sakaide, Kagawa prefecture in 2019 on the JET Program. There, she spent three incredible years teaching at a private high school while also serving as Kagawa AJET President for her latter two years on the program.

Now back in Brooklyn, Julia works as a product specialist and educator in the AI world. When not fiddling around with Adobe Illustrator, she can be found getting lost on her bike, belting at karaoke, cooking meals for friends, and watching way too much ice hockey.
